About the Band
Ruben Stump
Bass, cello, guitar and vocals
Reuben Stump is a vocalist and bassist from Lansing, Michigan. Reuben grew up with a love for all styles of jazz and the great American songbook. In college, Reuben was nurtured by a vibrant Michigan music scene as well as a council of distinguished mentors. Reuben received his bachelor’s degree in jazz bass at the University of Michigan under the mentorship of Robert Hurst and recently completed his studies as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University under the guidance of Rodney Whitaker. After studying with vocalist Carmen Bradford, Reuben rediscovered his love for singing and has been honing his sound by singing and playing the bass.
Aaron Dye
Steel guitar, lead guitar, dobro, vocals
Aaron Dye is a core member of Puck Angel, bringing depth and dimension to the band’s sound on steel guitar, lead guitar, and vocals. Known for expressive phrasing and a tasteful, song-first approach, Aaron blends classic country tone with modern clarity to elevate both studio work and live performances. His versatility across instruments and voice helps shape the band’s dynamic arrangements and signature feel on puckangel.com’s “About the Band” page.
Corey DeRushia
Drums, Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar, vocals
Lover of dogs, cats and family, Corey has been making bands sound great for decades, either as a gifted engineer, or, as a muti-instrumentalist musician. His incredible ear and creative flair make Corey a perfect fit for the Wingmen.

As a core member featured on puckangel.com’s “About the Band,” Puck Angel anchors the lineup on bass guitar and rhythm guitar, while also contributing his unique style of finger-picking along with both lead and background vocals. Puck’s musicianship emphasizes feel, precision, and tonal balance-supporting the band’s arrangements with driving low-end lines, rhythmic clarity, and vocal harmonies that elevate the overall mix. Whether reinforcing the groove or stepping forward for vocal leads, Puck brings consistency and professionalism to every set.
Biography
Since the boys began recording music in 2020, their videos have had over half a million YouTube views and 400K "likes" on Facebook - with two videos, "Mr. Robb" and "Bull Elephant Song," appearing on both WILX Evening News and Studio 10 on WILX.
Currently rooted in East Lansing, Reuben Stump received his B.A. from U of M in jazz bass. When not playing with the Wingmen, he continues to work regularly with a variety of bands playing all styles of jazz and "tunes from the great American songbook."
Hailing from Traverse City, Aaron Dye has had musical stints in Bozeman, Montana and all over Northern Michigan. When not touring with Puck Angel - he continues to perform regularly both as an accomplished solo artist and with bands, "Stonefolk" and "Hill Spirits."
Corey DeRushia is another native of the Grand Traverse Bay area, who has worked as the owner, producer, chief engineer and creative genius behind Troubadour Recording Studios - where he regularly performs drums, guitar and bass in sessions. Corey is currently performing with "Stonefolk" when not a Wingman.
Puck Angel (aka Rob Blankenhorn) is a prolific songwriter and, as he puts it, "left-handed singer" from Mid-Michigan where he's performed his original music live on-air for WLNS, WITL's morning show, as well as, most recently - on "Studio 10" on WILX TV. In the last several years, Puck has produced and performed in YouTube videos that have garnered over half a million views - and two (Mr. Robb and The Bull Elephant Song) have been covered on separate news stories by WILX evening news. Before founding, Puck Angel and the Wingmen, Puck played with "The Beagles" in clubs all over Mid-Michigan, including 15 years as the "every-other-weekend house band" at Cleary's Pub in Howell.
Puck Angel and the Wingmen are dedicated to bringing their music to a new generation of fans worldwide in the hope that, through their songs about love and social injustice, they can make the world a better place. It is the band's commitment that five percent of all profits from streaming, record sales and appearances will go to support early childhood literacy.
